Time Management 101

Everyone is given 24 hours in a day; no one gets more and no one gets less. Yet it seems as if some people do get a lot more time than others because they get so much more done. Time management is the key for these who get more done. It has been said before that there are two ways to manage time: (1) do less or (2) do the same thing faster. I want to encourage you to adopt the second approach as your way of life. We only get so much time here on this earth that settling for less just shouldn't be an option for us.
Scripture says in Psalm 90:12, “So teach us to number our days that we may get a heart of wisdom.” Later in the New Testament, Paul writes in Colossians 4:5, “Walk in wisdom toward outsiders, making the best use of the time.” There is a direct connection to being a wise person and effective time management. Be wise and be a good steward of your time; use it in a way that is honoring to God.
Over the next few weeks, I am going to try and help you with some time management practices I’ve learned so you can begin to get more done faster. How great would it be to get 2 1/2 days more each year? If you save just ten minutes a day every day, that’s exactly what you’ll get. Stay tuned…
