Time Management 101 (Part 3)

Today I would like to encourage you with a third time management principle. This principle is called “eat the frog.” Imagine you woke up one morning with a list of things you had to do that day such as: wash the car, mow the grass, read a chapter in a book, clean the living room, make the bed, and eat a frog. I would guess most people, if not all, would not enjoy completing or even thinking about the task of eating a frog. If you had to do this though, you would be better off eating the frog before attempting any of the other tasks. Why? Since eating a frog would be the most difficult and dreaded of all the tasks, it will be weighing on you, draining your energy, and slowing you down as you accomplish the other tasks. Simply put, this time management principle states, “make the most difficult or dreaded item the first thing you do so it quits weighing on you.”  Applying this will help you get more done in less time. Of all the things you must do this week, what is the most difficult? Choose to make this your number one priority. Doing this every day will save you so much time and allow you to enjoy those other tasks as you accomplish them. God bless.

  1. I think I'll try this with my to-do list for tomorrow. It definitely makes sense! ... But I can guarantee you that I will NOT be eating any frogs!

  2. That is funny. Sometimes just writing out the list of things to do is the "frog" I have to eat. LOL. Thanks for posting a comment.
